KB’s Week in Review: December 5-9
Monday:
Today we learned that our letter this week is N and our popcorn word is we. We went to P.E. and music. We read 2 Monarch Award books! We learned how to organize a story using a beginning, middle and an end.
Tuesday:
Today we read the story, The Napping House and worked on the beginning, middle and end of the story. We used characters to sequence the story and retell it to a partner! We also talked about winter today and read a decodable winter book with a friend.
Wednesday:
Today we had KinConnect and made a Gingerbread Man. We read and retold the story of The Mitten by Jan Brett. We read a different story called The Mitten but this one was retold by Jim Ayelsworth. Ask me to tell you the difference. Today we also went to Art and added hair to our self portraits!
Thursday:
Today we had a red card drill! We went to the L.M.C. and to P.E. We had a chance to practice our “top-it” game with a new partner. In Math we also used our walk on number line and did some word problems!
Friday:
Today we went and saw the 2nd graders perform their musical. They did a great job! We used pattern block templates to create pictures and some of us even wrote a story to go with it. Today was Gracie’s all about me and she did a great job!! Mrs. Horsey visited us today and did a fun activity with us on deductive reasoning.

Reminders:
Please be sure that your child has clothing and outerwear appropriate for the weather each day. Their extra gear can be sent in a separate bag along with shoes to change into. The kindergarteners will go out for lunch recess unless the temperature and/or wind chill is below 0. It is also a good idea to have your child practice putting on all of their cold weather items independently at home as well as labeling any snow pants, boots, etc. with your child’s name. Thank you for your help!
